Welcome to K-5 Preparation Week for S.A.T
- We welcome you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us praise the Lord for His Goodness and his wonderful works. (Psa. 107:8)
- Good Morning Parents and families, here are some rules and schedule for the weeks ahead:
- Each child needs their lunch box and homework folder ONLY in their backpacks.
- Each child must have a proper healthy breakfast every day.
- Each child needs to have 6 new sharpened #2 Dixon Ticonderoga pencils.
- Each child needs to be in the class by 8:15 am
- NO TOYS PLEASE!
- NO TALKING DURING TEST TIME
- HAND ON YOUR LAP, FEET ON THE GROUND.
- LISTEN! FOCUS! LISTEN!
- ALL HOME WORK WILL BE S.A.T. PREP TESTS, THOUGH WE HAVE EXCELLENT READERS, YOU HAVE TO READ AND GUIDE THEM THROUGH EVERY STEP.
- MONDAY 15th S.A.T. Phonics, Language spelling
- TUESDAY April 16th S.A.T. Phonics, Language Spelling, Comprehension prep test.
- WEDNESDAY April 17th S.A.T. Science, Math, Social Studies
- THURSDAY April 18th S.A.T Phonics, Language, Spelling, Comprehension prep Test
- FRIDAY April19th S.A.T Science Math, Social Studies
- When: S.A.T. Begins APRIL 22nd – APRIL 26th
- Time: 8:30 am – 3pm
- Each child needs to have a Healthy Breakfast every morning.
- Each parent is asked to pick up your child early each day so, they can get proper rest.
- Each child needs to be at school by 8:15 am for pray and preparation for their test.
- No Backpacks are needed, just their lunch boxes.
- NO HOME WORK OR TOYS THIS WEEK PLEASE
- Testing will start promptly at 8:30 am and finish by 3pm.
- NO one can enter the test room after 9:00 am.
- PLEASE PRAY WITH THEM EVERY MORNING AND NIGHT, WITH JESUS THEY WILL DO!
THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- BE SIGNED BY AN ADULT.
- All home work with food stains or ripped will not be corrected.
- A One Day grace period will be given for all home-work or class work not completed.
- Language Enrichment: left and right, same and different, first next and last, larger, smaller, same size. Above below, before and after, Stop/go, more than, less than, same size. Hot/cold, open closed, near and far, cold and hot, in/out, up/down, tall/short, fast, slow, day/ night, light/heavy, sit/stand ( Review)
- We have started learning special sounds from charts 6- 8, please study the charts.
- 2 vowel words: When there is two vowel in a word the 1st vowel says its name and the 2nd vowel is silent. (do not sound it out)
- Character Development: being well-mannered, Self- Control, Poor Self -Control, Obedience Disobedience, polite, impolite, patient, im-patient, thoughtful, cheerful, respectful, truthful, thoughtful Orderly. ( Review)
- During our Bible time they are learning about: Jesus’ ascension
- Social Studies: (SOCIAL STUDIES END) CAREER DAY
- Science: The 5 senses, living and non-living things, Gravity, The weather, Seasons, God’s Plan for seeds.
- Math: Formation 0-69 counting from 1-59 forward and backwards, Clocks ½ past, 15 min past, Addition: 0,1,2,3, 4, 5, 6,7, 8, 9, counting by 5’s -100 counting by 10’s to 100, adding pennies, and nickels. Introduce Dimes. Introduce subtraction.
- Art: March and April Art projects.
- Testing begins regularly on THURSDAY, FRIDAYS: MATH, PHONICS, LANGUAGE, HANDWRITING, READING, READING SENTENCES AND WORDS, MARKING VOWELS, SPECIAL SOUNDS, SPELLING, CONSONANT BLENDS, SIGHT WORDS and BIBLE. (Please STUDY)
School Supply List
- 2 packs of 64 Crayola Crayons.
- 2 boxes for pencils and crayons
- 2 pks. #2 Ticonderoga pencils
- 10 plastic folders placed in a 3 ring binder, please label 1 – Home Work/ Information 2- completed Work folder 3- progress report and report card folder, 4- Spanish/ Bible 5- Science/ Health, 6- Art 7- Reading 8- Drama/ Praise and Worship
- No markers, pencil sharpeners, or colored pencils.
- 1 blunt edged scissor
- 2 packs of Clorox wipes
- 2 packs of baby wipes
- 1 pack of paper towels
- 4 packs of tissues for noses
- 1 pack of plates
- 3 pack of forks/spoons
- 3 hand sanitizers
- 3 hand soaps
- 1 Plastic container ( labeled) (1st Draw) 2 Coloring books 2nd draw- Folders, 3rd draw Toys.
- Girls can bring in tea sets, 2 coloring books, ponies, play dough
- Boys can bring in play dough, blocks, car set, 2 coloring books.
- 1 smock, 1 pack of Crayola washable paint, and 8 large to small paint brushes and a pack of painting paper.
- 2 black and white composition books labeled, Phonics,/ Spanish, Science / Health.
- 2 Packs of Multi- colored index cards
- All toys must fit in their draw and taken home Friday to be washed.
- 2 bottles of Alcohol
- 1 small pillow ( must be placed inside the desk on on a hook)
- 4 Erasable markers
