Schools across the United States canceled in-person classes beginning in March 2020 to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As we endeavor to safely reopen our school for VBS and the academic school year we have put in place the following guidelines which cover these three areas: attendance, social distancing and hygiene and cleaning.
ATTENDANCE – All staff will be required to wear a mask daily. All students above 3 years of age will be encouraged, but not required, to wear a mask also. All staff and students will be screened for fever and other COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering the school each day. Children and staff with a fever in excess of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, or exhibiting other symptoms of COVID-19, will not be allowed to enter the school. (Parents must inform the school of any international travel before the student enters the building) We will also be minimizing class sizes and movement between classes. Groupings shall not exceed 10 children, and interactions between classes will be limited. (Staff shall be assigned to and remain with their class) If a student or staff member exhibit any symptoms of the virus or if they report having been in contact with someone who is infected they will be immediately sent home and the Plainfield Board of Health will be notified. If symptoms are identified upon arrival, the student or staff member will be sent home.
SOCIAL DISTANCING – We will make every attempt to keep students at a safe distance from one another (3 to 6 feet apart) and also to reduce the number of people with whom they interact face-to-face.. As previously stated students will remain in their classroom with their teacher. We are aware that social distancing may be difficult with the younger children and that, while distance …[Continue reading – COVID-19 Re-opening Policy & Release Form]
